Portraits | Renascent

Over the past eight years since I have been photographing professionally, I have had the opportunity to work with some great organisations. These include WarChild, Houselink, Oolagen and most recently, Renascent. Quite simply, I love people who are doing something good in the world and I love supporting them in anyway that I am able. Working with these organisations has allowed me to meet some great people and has also opened my eyes to other parts of life that I may not normally see. I am a better person because of these experiences.

This summer I did a lot of shooting for Renascent. The idea was to create images to not only use in their Annual Report but to also begin creating an image bank for the organisation. Throughout those two days I photographed countless people and visited three of their locations in Toronto. Whenever I photograph for things such as an Annual Report, I never know how the images will end up since, once my post-production is done, everything is in the graphic designer’s hands. When I received my copy of the Annual Report this week, I squealed a little. It looks so great and I love the way they used my images.

Renascent is an organisation that helps those struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction. They offer all forms of treatment, including providing housing. Their homes are inviting and the staff is encouraging. I loved being a part of this and I urge you to check out the Renascent website to view more information about them.

I also received a very sweet letter from the Manager of Communications.:)
