The 7th Toronto Timeraiser | Fermenting Cellar

One of the things that I love about being a photographer is that I have skills that I can use to give back to my community. I love volunteering my services for a great cause so when one of my 2010 brides asked if I would be willing to photograph the 7th Toronto Timeraiser, I said a “heck yes!” Timeraiser is a very cool event where people bid on artwork except that you do not bid money, you bid hours of volunteer work. You get to choose which great organization(s) you would like to spend your hours at. The volunteer hours need to be completed within twelve months and you then receive your art upon their completion. I love this concept, and seeing the number of people that attended this event – a lot of other people do as well! The 7th Toronto Timeraiser was held at the amazing Fermenting Cellar located in the Distillery District and over 10,000 volunteer hours were raised that evening.

There are two upcoming Ontario Timeraisers  – the Hamilton one is April 22nd and the London one is May 13th. Check their website for more details.
