I love to travel. As a self-employed individual, it is always hard to get away from work in order to explore new places. You have to get organized, reply to all emails, finish up projects, get everything ready for when you return. When you do return from your adventures, madness starts and before you know...

Remember my recent maternity session with my Gillie Bean? Well on April 27th, wee Clara was born. Now since we called Gillian “Gillie Bean”, Clara is naturally becoming “Clara-Bean”. I got to meet the little lady when she was just two weeks old and was instantly in love with her. Since Gillian and Patrick are...

Kate + Stephen are married! They got married on May 1st when the weather was warm and more spring-like than it has been as of late! Their ceremony took place at St Lawrence the Martyr in Scarborough and their reception was at the lovely St. Lawrence Hall at King & Jarvis. Kate + Stephen are a fantastic couple; they love to have fun and really balance one another out. Kate found me through past wedding clients of mine (hi Caroline + Vav!) and coincidentally enough, are friends with some future wedding clients of mine who we saw at the reception (hi Stacey + Jim – I’ll see you on June 12th!). I love how small this city actually is! Congratulations Kate + Stephen!

The one thing that I’m quite proud of us wedding/lifestyle photographers in the Southern Ontario is that we are great networkers. There is always a get-together or a shoot-out being organized. When you work independently for yourself, it can sometimes be quiet so it is amazing to have such a great network of people that you can relate to, hang out with and call up on a whim. My buddy Scott Williams is one of those people who I have met in the past couple of years through all of this said networking. When I mentioned one day that I would love to meet and photograph his twins, he asked me if I was actually serious and then told me that I did not know what I was getting into! I told him that I was up for the challenge and we scheduled the session.
Well, we all survived the portrait shoot, even managing to keep the surprise of the photos from Scott’s wife for a number of weeks before she received them as a birthday gift. Emma + Jack are awesome and wild three year olds and I had a blast photographing them! I also may or may not have needed a nap after they left the studio. (You be the judge!)
